Somatic and Developmental Movement Learning Path
This immersive learning path is designed to deepen your understanding of human development and movement as a foundation for healing, transformation, and connection—both within ourselves and in relationship with others, including animals.
Through three sequential courses led by somatic movement educator Mark Taylor (with contributions from Bettina Shultz-Jobe), participants are introduced to the neurological and developmental patterns that underlie movement and behavior. These patterns form the basis for how we interact with our environment and build relationships.
The courses in this learning path emphasize both conceptual frameworks and experiential practices, gradually guiding participants from understanding to embodiment.
Complete this learning path to gain powerful insights and tools to integrate somatic movement principles into your personal practice, therapeutic work, and relationships with humans and animals.

The Origins of Movement and Repatterning of Motor Skills to Support Transformation and Healing
Explore how embryological, fetal, and infant movement patterns shape our development and ongoing behavior. Learn to recognize underdeveloped or dominant movement patterns and how to repattern them for greater balance and healing.

Moving through Space
Delve into land-based movement patterns and “space theory.” Observe how these principles are applied in a session between human and horse, revealing the connection between functional movement and relational dynamics.

Deepening the Satisfaction Cycle
Engage in guided somatic practices that help you embody the full arc of the Satisfaction Cycle—yield, push, reach, grasp, and pull—while exploring your internal experience and sensory awareness.
